The Global Social Observatory receives support primarily on a project basis. That is, GSO sponsors have contributed financial support for specific projects of particular interest to them. A number of supporters have contributed in kind, by making available meeting space and the like. The GSO has also received support from a small member community that has contributed in the way of annual membership fees.
Most recently, the GSO has been engaged in a project financed by a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, to support the Scaling Up Nutrition Movement in a consultation process for the prevention and management of conflict of interest. The GSO continues to receive additional support from the membership fees and volunteer services of its members. From its first years as the Geneva Social Observatory, the GSO received funding and in-kind support from diverse sources. These include Accor Services, BD, the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, the Eli Lilly Foundation, the European Union, the ILO, Medtronic, the Government of Norway, Novo Nordisk, Pfizer, the Quaker UN Office, Sanofi, Unilever and the World Bank.
Should you have any questions or comments concerning GSO financial matters please direct them to Mr. Ralph Doggett, the GSO Secretary/Treasurer on rdoggett[at]gsogeneva[dot]ch.
